Shearer Equine is dedicated to breeding and promoting quality quarter horses that are versatile. Based in Montana, we are actively involved in “using” our horses outside on the ranch and for mountain recreation. This environment provides tremendous opportunities to produce very strong equine athletes that can negotiate a variety of situations and terrains. We also love to compete in reining cowhorse and ranch competitions. 

Ranch owner Scot Shearer has been involved with horse and cattle operations for over 40 years. He is a Certified American Farrier with unique experience in corrective horseshoeing in the performance horse industry. Scot believes it is essential to provide the best possible horseshoeing support for each horse as an individual. An expert in horse confirmation, he has comprehensively studied all aspects of farrier science. Scot understands young horse developmental needs and aged horse farrier maintenance. 

We believe we have a responsibility to breed and raise horses for the benefit of both the animal and the people who own them. Horses should be a delightful addition to anyone’s working, recreational, or performance goals. To that end, Shearer Equine offers a variety of solid quarter horses for your enjoyment.
