Welcome to
Shearer Equine!
Nestled in
the Gallatin Valley near Bozeman, Montana, the Shearer Ranch
raises quarter horses with athleticism, proven pedigrees, and
performance confirmation.
Our mountain
raised horses enjoy lush pastures and lots of room to roam.
Our horses possess good cow sense and are given quality
training in a working ranch environment.
We breed our horses with versatility in mind.
We believe they can do most anything, from cutting,
reining, barrels, poles, jumping, or eventing.
They have the ability.
They are well mannered, good minded, and definitely a
good investment.
Yes, we have
lots of great color!!! Duns,
buckskins, grullo, black, bay, and gray.
But we know color doesn’t make the horse, so we have
always recognized the need to establish a good balance of color,
pedigree, confirmation, and sound minds.
Our
Philosophy:
We have
always believed if horses can work well outside in the “real
world”, where they encounter a variety of terrains and working
environments, they work even better in a controlled setting,
such as a performance arena.
From ranches to feedlots to the arena, they receive many
learning opportunities that produce well rounded horses with
unique abilities to go in many different directions.
Because
horses are an extremely important part of our lives, we also
believe, if you want horses with longevity, you need sound confirmation.
Pedigrees are great, but we make every effort to breed
horses that are built to last.
Ranch owner, Scot Shearer, is a Certified American
Farrier with 25 years of experience with all breeds of
performance horse confirmation issues and corrective shoeing.
Horses with sound confirmation are the foundation of any
successful breeding program and help assure you of a quality
investment.
